Who can use the library?

The library is intended for the St. George’s community use, including students, teachers, administrative and technical staff. The library materials are open for consultation free of charge. Students must have their library card to borrow books.

What are the library hours?

The library is open Monday to Friday from 7.45 am to 16.35. From Monday to Thursday it remains open from 17 to 19 hs. with a tutor on duty.

How many books can be borrowed and for how long?

Textbook lending is for the whole school year and a maximum of 5 books per student is allowed. Each student is allowed to borrow only one copy of each textbook for the year.
The book lending is for seven (7) days with the option to renew for other seven (7) days if it is needed. Each student is allowed to borrow up to 5 books, depending on availability.

How can I get my library card?

New students from 1ES to 6ES are provided with library cards at the beginning of every year. In case of robbery, loss or destruction, each student can ask for a replacement at the IT offices.

Can I extend my library loan?

Yes. If a student needs a textbook to study during summer holidays, he/she must to go to the library with the book and ask for an extension.
The library books loan can be extended for other seven (7) days more, if the student goes to the library with the book in hand.

Besides books in English and Spanish, does the library have material in other languages?

There is a section with books in French, mainly of French literature and literary criticism.

What can I do if I don't find the information that I need in the library?

We have a great variety of electronic sources to help you with your search. Also, we offer advice regarding the research process, and work with different institutions which give specific information to answer determined needs.
